Winter Park Doctor Charged After Teen Hospitalized from House Party, Alleged Underage Drinking Prompts Investigation

A Winter Park house party turned into a scene of adolescent chaos and potential tragedy over the weekend, resulting in the hospitalization of an underage girl and the arrest of a local doctor. According to ClickOrlando, police responded to the residence after reports of juveniles “falling down drunk.” The incident took place early Saturday, highlighting once more the perils of unsupervised teen gatherings.

Upon arrival just after 12:30 a.m., officers found that more than thirty juveniles had attended the house party on Chestnut Avenue. Paramedics had to quickly transport a 15-year-old girl to AdventHealth Winter Park. There, she was reported to be vomiting and barely coherent, signaling a severe reaction to alcohol consumption. Police eventually arrested the homeowner, Hao Nhu Tran, a 51-year-old doctor, charging her with multiple offenses, including contributing to the delinquency of a minor and providing alcohol to persons under 21.

Evidence collected at the scene included empty alcoholic beverage containers from hard seltzers like “High Noon” and Smirnoff cans scattered within the home.
