TAVARES, Fla. — The legal team representing suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez in an ongoing racketeering case has filed a motion seeking to have his case dismissed, arguing, in part, that much of the alleged activity was not illegal in Lake County at the time.
The remaining charges, they said in a court filing, covered alleged acts that took place in Osceola County, making Lake County the wrong venue for the case.
