Local farmers’ hay catches fire in Seminole County after illegal burn, volunteer fire rescue says

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) – Over 40 rolls of hay caught fire Saturday night in Seminole County as a result of an illegal burn, according to a social post by Seminole County’s volunteer fire rescue team.

The team was on the scene of the fire and said it occurred near the Donalsonville Airport. According to the social post, the fire was caused by an illegal burn, “that quickly spread and ignited over 40 rolls of hay, resulting in a significant loss for a local farmer.” It is unclear who first ignited the illegal burn.
