On November 21, 2025, Orlando will host the first Florida Black Lawyers Summit. The event will bring together fifteen voluntary bar associations from across the state. It is organized by the Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association (VHFCNBA) and fourteen affiliate bars. The summit aims to promote unity, advocacy, and professional development among Black legal professionals in Florida.
The summit will be held at the Marriott Orlando Downtown and Florida A&M University College of Law. The theme is ‘Strengthening Our Power Through Unity.’ Organizers expect attorneys, judges, and law students from across the state to attend. The program includes continuing legal education (CLE) sessions, keynote speakers, and a formal judicial reception.
Brendalyn Edwards, president of VHFCNBA, said the summit is an important opportunity for collaboration and advocacy.
