Orlando expands red light camera program to improve traffic safety in 2026

The city of Orlando plans to install 35 new red-light cameras across major intersections starting in the summer of 2026 to improve road safety and support its Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries on city streets by 2040.

According to the 2024-25 Red Light Camera Summary Report, fewer than 5% of Orlando’s intersections currently have red-light cameras, but cameras will be placed in areas with a heightened level of risk, including intersections where data showed higher right-angle, or T-bone, crashes.
