Two Orlando candidates were fighting during early voting at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office, and Regina Hill apologized for the conduct.
As if the embarrassment for Orlando’s District 5 could not get worse, suspended former Orlando Commissioner Regina Hill posted video on Facebook of the confrontation with current Commissioner Shan Rose, which shows over 72,000 views. Hill, Rose, and Lawanna Gelzer are running for District 5 Commissioner, and Gelzer’s campaign said she is the clear choice as an alternative to the other two fighting candidates.
Regina Hill is running to get back into office as she faces multiple felony charges and an upcoming trial after Election Day. Shan Rose has been trying to focus on her accomplishments and vision for District 5, but Hill has been politically attacking her and putting the pressure on her since the start of the campaign. Gelzer got in the race late to offer the community an alternative. This latest candidate fight during early voting doesn’t help either Hill or Rose right before Election Day on November 4th.
Hill admitted she has never experienced “such hateful and divisive rhetoric in a District 5 campaign.” She asked for understanding and forgiveness. “We are better than this,” Hill insisted in her apology.
