A Leesburg man wanted for eluding law enforcement had to be forced out of his vehicle during his arrest at his apartment.
Deputies spotted 40-year-old Dexter Larae Cobb parking a silver Volvo SUV at the Cypress Oaks apartment complex, located at 336 Sandy Oaks Circle, Leesburg, at 4:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. They had a warrant charging him with flee or attempt to elude law enforcement and driving while license suspended.
Cobb was given multiple commands to get out of his vehicle but refused until they told him about the warrant. He stepped out only to stand in the doorway, still refusing to listen. The deputies went closer to him, and he got back into his vehicle to pick up his cell phone, the report said.
The deputies ordered him to surrender his hands, and he instead grabbed the black vehicle rack at the top of his car. He would not let go and had to be forced to the ground. He continued to resist, refusing to put his arms behind his back, the report said…
