Orlando City Council to vote on agreement to add speed cameras at 26 school zones

ORLANDO, Fla. – Almost a year after Orlando approved placing cameras outside dozens of schools, the city council is set to decide which company will install them.

Many Central Florida municipalities have added cameras to school zones to discourage speeding and keep students safe. Last December, the city approved moving forward with the plan. Since then, they have been working to decide which company will install the cameras.

On Monday, the council will vote on an agreement with Verra Mobility to install cameras at 26 school zones…
