OPD released an update on an officer-involved shooting at a tattoo shop in Orlando that left a man deceased.
The Orlando Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting at 4864 Edgewater Drive, where OPD SWAT was serving a search warrant related to illegal drug and firearms activity at the tattoo shop involving multiple suspects.
This investigation began after the department received an anonymous tip reporting illegal narcotics sales inside the business. On September 19th, OPD officers responded to the shop regarding a suspicious incident. The caller reported witnessing multiple illegal drug transactions occurring inside the establishment.
Over the past two months, officers conducted surveillance both at the business and on associated social media accounts. Videos and photos posted online from inside the business show guns and drugs on full display. During that time, officers observed multiple hand-to-hand transactions consistent with the sale and delivery of illegal narcotics.
