Orlando hotels ‘to close’ after Marriott backed chain filed for bankruptcy

TWO popular Orlando hotels could be shutting their doors after a Marriott-backed rental firm collapsed into bankruptcy and abruptly cut ties with the hospitality giant.

The Wellborn in downtown Orlando and the Vista Cay apartment-style resort near Universal’s upcoming Epic Universe theme park are now winding down operations, according to local reports.

The uncertainty comes after short-term rental company Sonder Holdings said its U.S. business would be liquidated.
