Pennsylvania woman cites ‘financial reasons’ as cause for $103 theft from Walmart

A Pennsylvania woman was arrested for theft after stealing $103.35 worth of grocery and cleaning items from Walmart.

A deputy responded to Walmart, located at 550 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, for retail theft involving 39-year-old Stanifia Silvia Taylor around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

An asset protection employee advised that Taylor bagged multiple items at self-checkout without paying for them. Indeed, surveillance footage showed she scanned a few things with a handheld scanner. She then put it back on the register and bagged the rest without paying for them, the report said.

Taylor later claimed she accidentally bagged the unscanned items, but she ultimately admitted intentionally doing it for financial reasons. Loss prevention recovered 42 items worth $103.35, including various grocery and cleaning items along with two Buzzballz, the report said…
