A hit-and-run incident in Orange County has ended one life and left another shaken. Last Monday, a pedestrian was fatally struck on Silver Star Road, per the Florida Highway Patrol. An eastbound 2003 Honda Accord collided with the pedestrian, who was not in a marked crosswalk, WESH reports. Following the initial impact, while the Honda driver was attending to the injured pedestrian, another vehicle, a Chevy Malibu, hit both individuals and fled from the scene.
The aftermath of such events often leaves less to the imagination and more to the cold calculus of emergency responders. After the events unfolded, the pedestrian, a 33-year-old man from Leesburg, was declared dead at a hospital. As for the Honda Accord’s driver, they sustained minor injuries, according to statements obtained by WFTV. The community, no stranger to tragedies along this stretch of road, is reeling once again. A resident near the scene expressed a grim familiarity with such occurrences, saying, “My husband said what’s going on out there and I said it’s Silver Star, what’s not going on here you know.”…
