A Brooksville man was arrested on drug charges after throwing a small bottle of cocaine under his vehicle during a traffic stop.
A deputy saw 34-year-old Jamaine Linden Adolph make an illegal U-turn in a black Lexus at 1:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle went from the northbound turn lane to the southbound turn lane on U.S. Hwy. 27, leading to a traffic stop nearest the intersection with High Grove Avenue in Clermont.
The deputy stood by the driver’s side when speaking with Adolph, during which he smelled burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. When asked about it, Adolph stated he smoked marijuana inside earlier in the day, but there were no hemp or CBD products there now. He also did not have a medical marijuana license, the report said.
After a short time, he asked to get out of the vehicle. The deputy allowed him but stated he would be patting him down for safety. Adolph consented but turned toward the vehicle, reaching into the front waistband of his shorts with his right hand, the report said…
