Orlando City Commissioners Patty Sheehan and Robert Stuart quietly added a splash of color to the Orlando Urban Trail this week in Ivanhoe Village and Mills 50, painting rainbow designs on two medians in response to the removal of the Pulse rainbow crosswalk earlier this year.
Sheehan proposed the idea, and Stuart, whose term ends in January, wanted to see it completed before he leaves office. The project wrapped up on December 28.
The newly painted medians are located in Mills 50 and Ivanhoe Village between Ferris Avenue and Virginia Drive and between North Magnolia Avenue and Lake Highland Drive, transforming small stretches of concrete into visible statements of support and remembrance along the trail.
