LifeStream patient attacks four staff members when asked to change her pants

A Clermont woman was arrested for battering four staff members at LifeStream because she did not want to change her pants.

An officer responded to LifeStream, located at 2020 Tally Rd., regarding 34-year-old Deborah Ladeira Soares battering staff around 12:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Staff members were holding her down even though she spat on them.

Upon arrival at the women’s unit in the facility, the officer saw multiple staff members still holding Soares down to give her medication. She was awake and breathing but refused to answer any questions, including if she was okay. About five minutes later, she got off the floor and headed into a common area. She stated she would continue to harm others at the facility unless she was released from her police hold, the report said.

All four of the victims advised that the incident began when Soares got upset because her belt buckle was not allowed in the facility, and a nursing assistant asked her to change into approved clothing. She instead started yelling at staff, threatening to hurt them and anyone who tried to take her pants. She then took her pants out of her backpack and threw them at a registered nurse, the report said…
