Man arrested after emotionally fraught fracas at Mexican restaurant in Clermont

A Clermont man was arrested for battery after arguing with a restaurant manager about talking to his ex working at Sr. Tequila Mexican Grill.

A deputy responded to a battery complaint involving 34-year-old Wilmer Antonio Perez Ortega at Sr. Tequila Mexican Grill, located at 16745 Cagan Crossings Blvd., Clermont, at 7:20 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, he found the manager and Perez Ortega behind the restaurant in the parking lot. He had his vehicle running while parked in the travel lanes with the driver’s door open. Both were behind the vehicle and separated as the deputy pulled up, the report said.

Perez Orega advised that he had come to the restaurant to speak with his ex. He then moved his vehicle into a parking space and stood on the sidewalk while the deputy spoke with the manager, the report said…
