Freezing temperatures moved into Central Florida last Sunday and caused a malfunction in an on-campus housing community at UCF that led to some students being relocated to nearby hotels.
Multiple rooms and hallways in nearly all of the Towers buildings were flooded, caused by air conditioning units recycling freezing outside air, according to a statement released by the UCF Police Department.
“Our team has identified the cause of the issue in Towers 1, 3, and 4 as a malfunction involving hallway air conditioning units that were recycling freezing outside air,” UCFPD said in a statement posted to a UCF Parent Facebook group. “Repairs are underway, and all buildings are reopened.”…
