ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando firefighters shared an emotional reunion Wednesday with a man whose survival story they have never forgotten.
Firefighters reunited with Matthew “Miracle Matt” Manzari, a patient they rescued nearly 12 years ago after a devastating electrical accident that responders say rarely ends in survival.
On June 25, 2014, Manzari was electrocuted while trimming trees near a church in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood when he struck a power line. He suffered severe burns and traumatic injuries across his body but remained conscious as bystanders called 911.
