UniMart Konbini Set To Supercharge Mills Market Snack Game

Mills 50 is getting a little more Tokyo this summer. UniMart, a konbini-style Japanese convenience counter, is slated to open inside Mills Market, promising grab-and-go tamago sandos, konbini-style fried chicken, bento boxes, and a curated selection of Japanese snacks. The quick-service stall comes from chef William Shen and the Mills Market team, and it will join the market’s growing roster of chef-driven counters in a neighborhood already known for its deep bench of Asian offerings.

According to Orlando Weekly, guests can expect an array of Japanese snacks and goods alongside freshly prepared to-go fare like tamago sandos, konbini fried chicken, and bento boxes. The outlet notes Mills Market co-founder Johnny Tung said the team wanted to bring “a slice of that experience back home,” and that UniMart will be situated next to Shen’s 10-seat sushi counter, Okonomi.

Mills Market is listed at 1110 E Colonial Dr. and shows market hours as Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., which the new stall is expected to match. The address and posted hours make Mills Market, the converted Tien Hung grocery, an easy lunchtime and evening stop for nearby residents and workers.

William Shen, the chef behind Sorekara and market concepts including UniGirl, Zaru, and Okonomi, is leading UniMart’s concept and menu planning. Orlando Magazine notes Shen’s high-end work at Sorekara has raised Orlando’s culinary profile, while his market projects lean into more casual, accessible service.
