Sanford woman killed when wrong-way driver crashes into her, FHP says

A Sanford woman was killed when a sport utility vehicle traveling in the wrong lane on Kepler Road crashed head-on into her vehicle near DeLand early March 11, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash that killed the 27-year-old woman occurred at 3:14 a.m. on Kepler Road near Mimosa Lane, according to FHP.

Florida troopers said the Sanford woman in 2013 Honda Civic was southbound on Kepler Road when a 2007 Ford Edge that was northbound in the south lane collided head-on into her Honda Civic.

The Sanford woman died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Ford Edge, a 33-year-old man from Oviedo, was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center with minor injuries, troopers said…
