Arriving at the meeting spot next to the Orlando Science Center, audience members are greeted by “counselors” who escort them to the “campsite.” Before the show started, I loved hearing the counselors all interact with each other and with the audience as if we were campers. As the show began, actors gathered by the “campfire” where The Bully (Chris Jackson) told the ghost story of Mary Morgan. When the story was over, the head counselor gave the other counselors their assignments; The Final Girl (Melody “Spunky” Aleman) wasn’t there, leaving the counselor she was paired up with all by themself, and they met their demise. This introduced the first rule: Never be alone.
This show is created by Live Action Novelty Combat Entertainment, a troupe devoted to stage combat, and the effort that they put into their fight scenes shows. Pao Ayala is a standout as The Creepy Doll, who has a great fight scene with Jackson…
