HotelBrokerOne (HB1) has brokered the sale of the Motel 6 Kansas City International Airport to a Dallas-based hotel redevelopment specialist. The Kansas City, MO, hotel is slated for extensive refurbishment and repositioning.
The approximately 3-acre property, which includes the existing 82-room hotel, has been historically successful within the airport corridor since it was originally developed as a corporately owned Motel 6 in the early 1980s. The property is now positioned for a significant transformation.
Bruce Holmes and Peter Holmes of HB1 brokered the transaction. “The completed transaction provides the new ownership with an opportunity to build upon the property’s established presence in the overall Kansas City market and especially within the MCI submarket,” said Bruce Holmes, CEO, HB1. “The repositioning to extended stay will capitalize on continued long-stay lodging demand throughout the metropolitan area.
