Independence man to spend 15 years in prison for meth distribution charge

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – An Independence man will spend the next 15 years behind bars after pounds of methamphetamine, fentanyl and multiple firearms were found in his home. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri says that on Tuesday, Jan. 23, Nicholas G. Gutierrez, 43, was sentenced to 15 years in prison without parole by U.S. Chief District Judge Beth Phillips.
