The Kansas City Chiefs just got some great news ahead of their AFC Championship matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The Chiefs’ star running back, Isiah Pacheco, is expected to play according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This report follows Pacheco being listed as questionable on Friday after missing two days of practice this past week due to an ankle/toe injury.
This wouldn’t be the first time Pacheco has played through an injury. Last year, Pacheco played during Super Bowl LVII with a broken hand and a torn labrum. Despite the injuries, Pacheco earned 76 yards rushing and a touchdown during that game.
Pacheco being able to play in the AFC title game is absolutely huge for the Chiefs, who would have had a tough time winning this one without him. Pacheco has been the team’s most explosive offensive playmaker not named Patrick Mahomes this season.
Through 16 games this year including the postseason, Pacheco has racked up 1,121 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground, while adding 257 yards and two touchdowns receiving.
