FIRST WARN FORECAST: Partly sunny and 60, even nicer Wednesday!

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – With high-pressure situated near the Mississippi River Valley and the Gulf of Mexico along with a warm front, just to the north in central Iowa, mostly clear skies are expected this afternoon with a strong southwesterly flow. This will create gusts up to 25 mph by late this afternoon with temperatures rising dramatically into the lower 60s. Overall, a beautiful day is setting up for us but before we get to the T-shirt weather this afternoon. It is still worthwhile for jackets and sweaters this morning as temperatures remain in the lower and middle 30s feeling more like we’re in the 20s. High pressure will continue to transfer to the east near the panhandle of Florida for our Wednesday forecast. This will continue a strong southerly component with our wind which will keep temperatures in the lower 60s with partly sunny skies Wednesday afternoon. That being said, a deepening cold front will drive into the Missouri River Valley providing a small threat for isolated showers to occur Wednesday night most likely between 6 and 11 p.m. Much of the wet weather will remain along I-70 and north. But it is worthwhile to grab the umbrella for a romantic date on Wednesday evening.
