U.S. Marshals Service warns of nationwide scam

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A nationwide scam is circulating where people are posing as U.S. Marshals and federal court personnel, and it has made its way to Kansas. The U.S. Marshals say these people will call trying to intimidate victims with threats of arrest and fines to get them to believe that they failed to appear for jury duty. One of the names being used is “Officer Whitlock.” The scammers have the names and addresses of their potential victims and reportedly will try to convince victims that they missed jury duty by failing to report to court.
