KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car late Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to KCPD, just before 9:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported “injury collision/pedestrian struck with critical injuries.”
Upon arrival, officers found a person who had been hit while crossing Prospect Avenue near 33rd Street.

KCPD said the pedestrian had been in the middle of the road when a Dodge Charger traveling northbound on Prospect hit them.
The driver of the Dodge stopped immediately and remained at the scene, officers confirmed.
After EMS arrived, the pedestrian was taken to a hospital where they later died from their injuries.
According to KCPD, this is fatality crash #62 compared to #59 at this time last year.
