Arkansas man pleads no contest in Shawnee attempted murder case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man from Arkansas charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly attacking a liquor store employee last year has pleaded no contest.

Amanjit Singh made his plea in Johnson County court this week.

Shawnee police responded to Stonebridge Liquors at W. 67th Street and Nieman Road Friday, June 12, 2023.

The victim told investigators a man walked into the liquor store as she worked and attacked her with a knife.

Court documents say Singh is accused of stabbing the victim multiple times.

Singh is scheduled to be sentenced in Johnson County court on October 30 at 1:30 p.m.
