Motorcyclist killed after hitting street lamp in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead after crashing a motorcycle into a street lamp early Sunday morning in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, at about 1:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 22nd Street and Grand Boulevard on reports of a one-vehicle crash.

KCPD searching for suspect after man stabbed, killed in Northland home

Officers said that the driver of a Honda 450R motorcycle had been speeding southbound on Grand Boulevard when they lost control and drove off the road.

The driver then hit a street lamp and was ejected from the motorcycle.

According to KCPD, the driver was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

KCPD has not released the driver’s identity.
