Police in Kansas City, Missouri, are investigating a homicide Friday night that left one person dead.
Just before 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to East 75th Street and The Paseo on a shooting.
Upon arrival, they were directed towards a vehicle that was stopped in the southbound lanes of Paseo.
As they approached the vehicle, they located an adult male shooting victim unresponsive inside the vehicle.
Officers rendered aid until emergency crews arrived and took over.
Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, the victim was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was in his vehicle when he was shot by an unknown suspect from outside of the vehicle.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are at the scene processing evidence and canvassing for any potential witnesses.
