KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Winter Weather Advisory has been CANCELED for all KCTV counties. Temperatures are near the freezing mark right now, so there is a decent amount of melting around the region. Roadways are mainly just wet now, but as we get a bit colder after sunset, we will want to watch for some flash freezing. There is a small evening batch of flurries that will try to move into northern Missouri, but this should not amount to much. We are watching overnight temperatures fall into the upper teens, so a few patches of ice are possible on area roadways early. Sunday high temperatures will only nudge near the freezing mark again. There will be some melting, but do not expect to lose all your snow just yet. Our high-resolution computer models are trying to hint at a quick burst of light snow showers late Sunday and into early Monday morning. As of now, the better chance looks to be on the Missouri side, especially the farther northeast you go from KC. We will watch this batch closely as it could drop a fresh dusting into early Monday morning. Generally, temperatures stay cold for many more days. There is a brief glimpse of warmer air on Wednesday as highs jump to near 50 degrees. Sadly, this does not last too long with 30s back by Thursday. No major rain/snow chances in the next seven days.
