AREA RESIDENTS INVOLVED IN FATAL CRASH EAST OF LONE JACK

An Oak Grove man was killed and three others suffered injury in a three-vehicle crash east of Lone Jack on Saturday, Dec. 21.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash in the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 at the intersection with Route F around 7:45 p.m. According to troopers, a pickup driven by a 55-year-old from Oak Grove drove south into the path of a westbound pickup driven by a 66-year-old from Sedalia. The impact sent the Oak Grove pickup into another southbound vehicle.

An 85-year-old passenger in the Oak Grove pickup was taken to a Kansas City area hospital, where he was pronounced dead an hour later. Another passenger was also taken to a Kansas City hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Sedalia pickup sustained minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. A 66-year-old passenger from Warrensburg received serious injuries and was also taken to hospital.

No injuries were reported for the other two drivers.
