KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 47-year-old Raytown, Missouri man was convicted Thursday for the 2021 shooting death of his roommate.
A Jackson County jury found Robert E. Matlock Jr. guilty of second-degree murder and armed criminal action and recommended 18 years for murder and seven years for armed criminal action.
Court records say Matlock called Raytown police on June 16, 2021, and said he had shot his roommate Ramiro Jaramillo, after he lunged at him.
