KS Secretary of State announces cancer diagnosis

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab says he will be undergoing surgery for cancer.

Schwab posted to social media Friday that doctors discovered a nodule in his lung in December during a routine screening. He said it is cancerous, and he will undergo surgery next week to have it removed.

“It has not spread or changed,” Schwab wrote in his post. “My doctors have confirmed it was found very early, and no further treatment will be required post-surgery. I will make a full recovery.”…
