Charges filed after stolen car leads to arson in Kansas City jail cell

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Charges have been filed against a woman accused of stealing a car and then attempting to start a fire in her jail cell over the weekend.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, March 21, indicate that Maurita Francis-Gebi, 48, of Kansas City, has been charged after she allegedly started a fire in her jail cell.

A probable cause statement filed by the Grandview Police Department revealed that on Friday, law enforcement officials on patrol near 125th and Harry Truman Dr. had been made aware of a stolen Lexus.
