Charges filed against man who threw rock at off-duty police officer

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One man could face life behind bars after he allegedly threw a rock at an off-duty officer with the Kansas City Police Department.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Saturday, April 5, indicate that Richard M. Sherman, 61, of Kansas City, has been charged after he allegedly assaulted an off-duty officer with a rock.

A probable cause statement filed by the Kansas City Police Department revealed that on Saturday, an officer had been working as a security guard in an off-duty capacity for the Sheraton Hotel in Crown Center.
