A man from Liberty faces seven criminal counts following an alleged kidnapping and assault that led to a high-speed pursuit through Ray County on May 3.
According to court documents filed in Ray County Circuit Court, Damon Lee Hollis has been charged with one count of kidnapping in the first degree, two counts of domestic assault in the second degree, one count of aggravated fleeing from law enforcement, and three misdemeanor traffic offenses. The charges stem from an incident reported at approximately 6:16 p.m. when law enforcement began receiving 911 calls concerning a red Chevrolet Corvette.
Witnesses informed dispatchers that a female was seen screaming for help near 14305 Route Y and was reportedly being forced back into the vehicle by a male. Another caller near County Road 160th and Sweet Street said a male was dragging the female back into the car before the vehicle fled eastbound…
