Kansas City man to spend decade in prison after lethal amount of fentanyl found

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City man will spend a decade in prison after a lethal amount of fentanyl was found in his possession.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri says that Lawrence A. Andrews, 51, of Kansas City, has been sentenced to prison for trafficking fentanyl.

Court documents noted that on March 4, Andrews pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He admitted that he possessed 19 grams of fentanyl and a 9mm pistol on Aug. 8, 2023…
