KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – In just one year, Prairie Village Police have seen a 172% increase in concerned callers complaining about Electric Bikes and Scooters.
“Last year, calls for service were about 25,” Investigations Sergeant Justin Puthoff said. “This year, thus far, calls for service regarding E-Bikes, E-Scooters, those types of devices are at 68.”
Breaking down those numbers year after year, in 2021 and 2022, there were only eight calls each year concerning E-Bikes and E-Scooters. 2023 only saw an increase of one call, totaling nine.
