KANSAS CITY, Mo. — James Gunn’s “Superman” continues to dominate the box office. According to studio estimates Sunday, the film collected $57.3 million in ticket sales this past weekend. In two weeks, “Superman” has grossed $406.8 million worldwide.
The new film doesn’t go too much into the origin story of Superman, but many know the story of an alien child coming to Earth and being raised by two Kansas farmers in the fictional town of “Smallville.”
