OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – Johnson County is considering plans for the site of a possible 3,000-acre park where an ammunition facility was formerly located.
The Johnson County Parks and Recreation District has announced that it expects to launch a master plan to protect land, restore nature and expand outdoor access with the largest park in its history.
County leaders noted that the Greater Kill Creek Area Park Master Plan is set to transform the area formerly owned by the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant into a space that blends outdoor recreation, environmental restoration and historical preservation.
