Kansas automotive shop seized for $450,000 tax debt

SHAWNEE (KSNT) – Kansas tax agents and local deputies seized assets from a Shawnee automotive customization and repair shop that owed more than $450,000 to the state.

The Kansas Department of Revenue (KDOR) announced in a press release that tax agents and deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department executed tax warrants at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at American Fusion Wheels located at 12310 West 62nd Terrace. The business specializes in offering customers upgrades and repairs to their vehicles in the Kansas City metro area.

KDOR reports that its agents and other law enforcement personnel seized all known bank accounts, cash on site, business inventory and personal property belonging to the owner. KDOR then sealed the business closed and posted a notice on the exterior with all seized assets to be sold at a later public auction to pay off the taxes owed…
