A North Kansas City man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly directing a laser pointer at an aircraft.
According to the indictment, filed under seal on Aug. 12, 2025, in Kansas City, 53-year-old Aaron Randall Class faces a single federal count. The charges became public after his arrest. Prosecutors allege that on or about Nov. 23, 2024, Class knowingly aimed a laser beam at an aircraft that was within the jurisdiction of the United States at the time.
The indictment represents an allegation rather than proof of guilt. Prosecutors must present evidence at trial, and it will be the responsibility of a federal jury to determine whether Class is guilty or innocent…
