MSHP: KCMO police officer shoots subject after report of man firing gun in air

UPDATE, 7:50 p.m. | A subject who had allegedly been firing a gun in the air was critically injured Sunday afternoon after being shot by a Kansas City, Missouri, police officer.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says around 3:32 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 3500 block of Independence on a reported disturbance involving a man reportedly firing a gun in the air.

A MSHP spokesperson said police arrived and located the subject. At some point during the encounter, one KCPD officer used his Taser and another officer opened fire…
