Kansas City leaders working to combat problems at Olive Park Village Apartments

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City leaders are taking another step to combat problems at troubled apartments in the Old Northeast neighborhood.

Twenty-eight families still remain as tenants at the Olive Park Village Apartments. City leaders said they’ve heard complaints from tenants about unsafe and unsanitary living conditions here. City councilmembers are asking for the public’s help finding new homes for them.

Complaints shared by city leaders on Wednesday included reports of broken items going unrepaired, rats and roaches in their homes, as well as utilities that don’t work consistently…
