Kansas City, MO – Drivers across northern Missouri should prepare for slick roads Monday as a band of light to moderate snowfall targets areas north of I-70, with the highest snow probabilities stretching toward the US-36 corridor. With Arctic air already in place, snow will be light and powdery—ideal for quick accumulation on untreated surfaces.
According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City, snowfall rates could exceed 1 inch per hour in narrow bands, with probabilities above 80% for at least an inch of accumulation in cities like St. Joseph, Chillicothe, and Trenton. Though totals may vary sharply from county to county, the corridor between I-70 and US-36 is at the greatest risk for amounts above 3 inches.
