KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – We have a First Warn in place today due to the chance of a wintry mix of freezing drizzle, rain, and snow.
Impacts are expected to be minor, but any chance for ice warrants extra caution. In general, the best chance for any freezing drizzle would be this morning, with the most likely locations being the north side of the metro to St. Joe. Even in this zone, it is not certain that freezing drizzle will occur. If it does, it would be light and could bring a light glaze of ice primarily to sidewalks and bridges.
The afternoon could see light and patchy bouts of light rain and flurries. Little to no impacts are expected for most of us, but a few spots could pick up a quick dusting to 1/4″. Highs hit the mid-30s, with a potent front coming in early this afternoon. This will kick up winds out of the north up to 25 mph. It will quickly turn colder, with wind chills in the teens shortly after sunset.
