Edwardsville cancer patient facing higher insurance costs with end of enhanced ACA subsidies

Edwardsville, Mo. (KCTV) – Enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits are set to expire in a matter of weeks, leaving people who rely on the subsidies to struggle with higher health insurance costs.

Dawn Wheeler can barely get through regular housework without needing a nap, but she’s still enjoying life eight years since her metastatic cancer diagnosis. She credits top-notch cancer care and her ACA insurance that makes that possible. With a pre-existing condition, she can’t qualify for private insurance. Without it, she’s certain her level of care would have suffered.
