KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police are investigating to determine if an overnight shooting in Kansas City is the result of celebratory gunfire.

Police said a person ended up at the hospital after being injured in a shooting near 31st and Kensington. Doctors treated the victim for minor injuries at a hospital before releasing that person.

Investigators are still investigating the circumstances surrounding how the victim was injured. A department spokesperson said preliminary information shows the shooting was consistent with celebratory gunfire…
