KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident during a police chase just before 5a.m. New Year’s Day in Kansas City. Missouri.
Independence police officers were pursuing a gray Ford F-250 for multiple alleged traffic violations. While traveling westbound on 9th Street approaching Benton Boulevard in Kansas City, the suspect vehicle failed to stop for a red traffic signal and collided with a blue pickup truck traveling southbound on Benton Boulevard, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
